We have an exciting opportunity for a Landfill Gas Technician to join our team in the Cambridge Area, working 45 hours per week Monday to Friday.

Accountable to the Landfill Gas Resource Manager, you will undertake the safe and effective monitoring and balancing of gas collection systems (GCS) in order to optimize Valencia’s landfill gas resource for regulatory compliance and for commercial benefit through power generation. 

What are we looking for?

Our ideal Landfill Gas Technician will have:

  • - An understanding of the operation and basic maintenance of landfill gas power generation and control equipment.
  • - The ability to solve problems and work autonomously to deadlines, constantly juggling priorities.
  • - A good general level of education coupled with relevant experience in an associated discipline.
  • - Good written and verbal skills, with basic IT literacy.
  • - Experience of working in an outdoor environment in all weather conditions.
  • - Full UK Driving Licence.

Working as part of the Maintenance Team, you will deliver high quality services to our Landfill and Aftercare sites, Landfill gas, Leachate, and gas utility plants.

As our Maintenance Technician, you will carry out in the safe and effective installation, maintenance, and repair of environment control systems, in particular (but not limited to) landfill gas collection systems, in accordance with the appropriate standards (i.e., company standards documents and procedures, industry best practice, regulatory guidance documentation) and that the relevant Health and Safety requirements are fulfilled.

You will also liaise closely with the operational delivery functions within Powergen and Landfill, to ensure that when Maintenance work is planned, it is be delivered in line with business priorities

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Environmental Technician to join our team, working across all sites providing routine and non-routine water management, leachate management and maintenance services on our aftercare sites. To ensure that delivery of these services are in line with business priorities, best practice and within agreed timescales and budgets. Ensuring always the adherence to statutory legislation, environmental obligations, company procedures and commercial objectives. 

Full accountability to take all reasonable steps to prevent any event that could cause health, safety or environmental harm. Full authority to contact any Leadership Management (LMM) member on a pressing health, safety and environmental matter.
